I’m Ella Berthoud, the in-house Bibliotherapist for Salon. I’ve written four books - The Novel Cure, The Story Cure, The Art of Mindful Reading and 30 Second Literature.
I’ve been offering bibliotherapy at Salons since 2007, starting at Reading Weekends at Tilton House in East Sussex where authors including David Nicholls and Diana Athill came to stay. I’ve popped up at Salons all over the world from Ayrshire to Antigua. I pop-up every month in special live online bibliotherapy sessions on Salon socials. They’re free to attend and great fun!
Road Trips, Great Friendships, each online session is themed.
Our discussions last about an hour and anybody can take part by suggesting books or commenting on my choices or just by listening in. If you want to go deeper, you can book a 1-2-1 session with me.
During your session I will talk to you - in confidence - about what you love to read, what you don't and what's going on in your life. I will then prescribe six books that are the right books for you to read right now.
